Seabass fishing

As described before, Niigata West Port is on the river mouth of the Shinano River, it is near my house and is one of best seabass fishing spots in Niigata City. In July I fished thirteen seabasses, the biggest one was 83 cm in length. I really enjoyed fishing in this month.

I will show you the results of my fishing from July 2 to July 13 here.

Though it was rainy in that morning, the water was not so cloudy. I fished a good sized seabass of 79 cm, 3.6 Kg ( Photo.1 and 2 ). It was a silver colored and very beautiful seabass.

The rain stopped but the water was muddy, as the Shinano is a big river and it takes one or two days to be muddy. I always fish on the breakwater, one side of which is the river mouth and the other is the sea water. Usually I cast lures to the river mouth. But in that morning I cast not to the river mouth but to the sea side, as I think that seabass likes cloudy water but does not muddy water.

My decision was right. I fished a seabass of 55 cm , 1.3 Kg ( Photo.3 ).

It was a cloudy morning. The water of the river mouth was not muddy. So I fished on the river mouth and got a good seabass of 63 cm, 2.3 Kg ( Photo.4 and 5 ) .

Then I found some anchovies swimming in the water surface, and cast a small plastic worm. I got a flat fish ( Photo.6 ).

In that morning there was no seabass groups, as I could get no seabass. But I fished two rock fishes ( Photo.7 and 8 ) . These fishes are delicious and I was lucky.

It was a rainy morning. Almost anglers dislike a rainy day, as we get wet and it is cold in rain. But I like it, as there are few anglers and activity of seabass is high.

I got four seabasses in that morning, the size of these were 43 cm 0.6 Kg ( Photo.9 ), 62 cm 1.9 Kg ( Photo.10 ), 54 cm 1.3 Kg ( Photo.11 ) and 40 cm ( Photo.12 ). Photo.13 shows all seabasses I fished in that morning. I was wet, but my heart was very hot.

The rain stopped but the water was muddy, and I cast lures to the sea water. Soon I fish a seabass of 42 cm in length ( Photo.14 ). This seabass showed a high jump to escape from me. It was exciting to me.
