Sports Fishing in Niigata City and Japan

Seabass Fishing in Niigata West Port in August

Summer in Japan is hot and my summer of this year was also very hot. We had some rainy days and I could fished two nice seabass in August. One of those was described previously.

I show my games in August. The fishing spot was Niigata West Port.

August 8th was a fine day. I went to Niigata West Port in that morning. I fished with lures.

First I missed a big one. Because the monster run. Then my fishing line was rubbed with concrete blocks near the breakwater and was broken.
"Oh, my God!"

Then I started fishing again and fished this small seabass, the length of which was 45 cm. (Photo 1) I was very mortifying, for this small one was a half lenght of missed one!

On the morning of August 15th I began fishing at 5:00 a.m. I got a big strike at 5:30 a.m. The fish fought and resisted strongly, and I took several minutes to land it. It was a nice sized seabass, the length of which was 89 cm and the weight was 4.2 Kg.

I used a vibration type lure. Its head was red and body was white. We call this color pattern as "Read Head" in Japan. This pattern is effective in seabass fishing in Japan.

The next morning I got a big seabass at 5:30 a.m. again. It was larger than that of the previous day, and fought and resisted toughly; the length was 100 cm and the weight was 6.3 Kg. (I previosly showed this here.)

I was lucky. But my wife said to me,
"Who on earth eat those big fish ?"
